Cynthia McDermott’s diverse musical background allows her to offer a range of options when it comes to music for weddings and events. She understands that musical choices can sometimes be overwhelming, and is happy to share her guidance and experience, working closely with clients and planners to ensure the band provides the perfect set list, vibe and volume every time. Whether you’re looking for fun-loving folk (The Treblemakers) or sophisticated groove (Mood Ring), these two groups deliver top-tier musicianship and know how to bring the good time!
Both bands carry their own sound equipment, and can have microphones accessible for speeches/toasts if necessary. Recorded background music is available during breaks if requested. Cynthia is also happy to act as general MC (introducing couple for the first time at reception, making any pertinent announcements/etc.).

MOOD RING is not your typical wedding band. They play the songs you know, but in inventive, re-imagined ways — picture sending the music though a sultry Instagram filter.
Of course, they know how to party, especially when the horn section gets called in! MOOD RING prides themselves on being able to provide a full spectrum of unforgettable musical experiences, from subdued ambiance during a sophisticated cocktail hour to all-out fist-pumping, booty-shaking dance party throw downs.
Their diverse musical offerings include many radio hits from the 90s/2000s as well as classic R&B, soul, and vintage jazz, and an ever-increasing range of styles from Brazil, France, and most recently, Cuba.
Cynthia leads the band on mandolin and vocals, and the group is available as a trio (with guitar and bass), quartet (trio + drums), or quintet (quartet + piano), with the option to add on up to three horns.

the treblemakers
The Treblemakers take a playful, light-hearted approach to American acoustic music. Drawing songs from both classic and contemporary sources of bluegrass, folk and country, every performance is dynamic, high-quality, and thoughtfully customized. The group plays most often as either a trio or quintet, and offer configurations from two up to six pieces. The core trio is mandolin/vocals, guitar and bass; fiddle, banjo and pedal steel are options for additional instruments.
